services.

I have experience in a variety of areas including medical and scientific illustration, animation, 3D modeling, and more. If you’re looking for something but don’t see it mentioned please reach out.

If I am unavailable to help with your project I will be happy to refer you to a colleague who can!

medical and biological illustration

  • Visual content for print materials such as journals, books, presentations, magazines, and more.

  • Digital visuals for presentations, websites, e-learning programs, patient education, sales training, and more.

animation.

  • Creation of step by step sketches of how your animation will unfold. Each “shot” is represented by illustrations or pictures representing each scene, with notes about what's going on in the scene and what's being said in the script during that shot.

  • 2D animations are the flat version of the world, think motion graphics, and usually animations require less production time.

The primary process of creating an animation includes:

    • Script

    • Concept and storyboard

    • Illustration (or modeling for 3D animations)

    • Animation in After Effects

    • Composition and special VFX

    • Editing, post processing, and final output

  • 3D animations can illustrate the same environment as 2D with more depth and full angle customization. 3D animations require more human resources with different skill sets and software flexibility including modeling, texturing, rigging, lighting, camera setting, and rendering.

digital models.

  • Digital assets for 3D animations.

  • Models that can be used for 3D printing, mold making and more.

  • Fossil reconstructions, CT/MRI segmentation and more.

process.

Below is a general outline of my creative process and what to expect working together visualizing your complex ideas, research or anatomy.

discuss.

It all begins with an idea. We discuss your project—the main concepts, who is the audience, what is the degree of complexity, the number of figures, the deadline, and usages. With this information I will develop an estimate based on this scope of work.

sketch.

Any visual reference you might supply me saves time spent on research, this includes samples of a style you might like your project to be in. We will then start the first few rounds of sketching and revisions. Changes can be made at this time as we evolve your goals and vision.

finalize.

Once the sketch(es) are approved we can start working on the final artwork. When you’re happy with the work we will deliver the work in the size, format and specifications you prefer!
